Dreaming of Africa...

Callin has watched this video at least a dozen times today. (Okay we both really like it.) It happens to be the most incredible pictures EVER of African animals and my MOST favorite hymn.

Lately Callin talks about his trip to Africa a lot. Every time we are anywhere where there happens to be a lot of trees or brush, he instantly starts asking where the monkeys and elephants are. I wish!

The long & short of it.

Scanned version of Cal's 2 year old photo.

After the many haircut attempts, we finally gave in to the buzz (also know as "The Doug") to get through the Hot & Humid Houston summer.

back to reality

After 6 weeks, of bliss and relaxation we headed home. With only:
15 bathroom stops
2 hotels
2 books on tape
0 trafic tickets and 0 flat tires!
a couple of hours well spent on side trips to Carlsbad Caverns & San Antonio
and 20 hours of listening to Callin's broken record saying, "Grammy's House."

A Really Happy 4th

I decided that 4th of July is one of my FAVORITE holidays. But hands down, the part that makes it so wonderful is getting to spend it with family, and lots of them! And luckily we were able to go back and forth between our two families or have them joined together. (We really like the fact that our families are good friends and live 4 minutes away from each other.)

Breakfast & water slides at the church
Here is Cal's new hair after 3 haircuts (4 if you count his chunk he cut as well.)
Neighborhood parade
Both of Callin's Papa's showed up to march.
Swimming
Delicious BBQ

Hopscotch w/ Grammie

Water balloon toss
Bean Bag Toss

Water relay races
Happy Birthday Livi!

And of course we ended the night w/ a great firework show!
