Playing Dress Up

Here is my Darling Dr. Doug after his second clinical day where he gets to go and follow a local doctor around pretending to know what to do. I will never forget the moment when I sat through a seminar at Baylor where I actually heard a faculty tell the students, "Remember the numbers 85 and 33. If a patient asks you a question in which you have no idea how to answer it, just throw out one of these two numbers, which ever one seems most logical to you. 'More than 85% of people in the US.... Less than 85% of patients who are diagnosed... Fewer than 33% of all people in the world who have this disease actually ever experience any sort of symptoms...'"

Listening to this advisor tell this room full of 1st year med students this advice gave me very little feelings of peace in what any doctor says. :)

So yeah, here is my Dougie playing doctor on real people... I am sure it will sink in someday. For now I just giggle every time I see him like this.

Callin Doug

Here is a fun Callin movie. (2 minutes) It shows some of the things he is up to these days. This is mostly for his grandmas and grandpas who don't get to enjoy him. The wave at the end makes the movie worth it! (Oh, and I am very sorry about the singing. It is very cheesy.)

Our House

You will have to excuse this very poor quality video...but if you want the royal house tour- here it is. It is about 2 minutes long and the last 20 seconds or so are in fast forward mode and I don't have the energy to fix it. There are still a lot of things to work on and a little budget to do it with, so don't judge too harshly. However... the lavender master bedroom is gone! Introducing the new color: Mississippi Mud! If anyone else wants a house at a great price- move to Texas and be our neighbors!

P.S. This does not give anyone the reason to not come and visit us just because you have already seen our house! It is much cuter in real life. :) Take note of the comfy futon, several couches, and not to mention the blow up mattress that are waiting to be your next vacation bed!

Dallas

Cal and I decided to drive up to Dallas for a couple days to play with the Rebers. We had a special visit from Uncle Ben. Cal gave him a big hug and said, "Da da." No, not quite but they look alike. We had a fun couple of days of shopping, relationship talking, playing, and movies. Thanks Lauren!

Tropical Storm

We (I mean Jan and Dan from the Houston Weather Station) took this video yesterday. Of course, today it is pouring buckets- with the lighting, thunder, and wind! That would have made our video so much better! Anywho, we were excited to have Doug home for the day. Enjoy!

First Day of School

Hooray! The fun is finally beginning!
